| Hmm, maybe June will be better.
I made a solid $135 at our weekly game. The secret to winning: be very lucky playing razz.

| It's been a bad poker month for me.
At the beginning of May we didn't have numbers for our Thursday night
home game. I dropped 5 bills at LC in the 6-12 that night.
I had a run of excellent cards and came second in about 4-5 huge
hands. Multiple suck-out rivers (board pairs but makes my nut
flush, lose to boat, etc). That hurt. A lot.
Then, I dropped two racks in the 6-12 at LC last weekend, couldn't get
cards to save my life. I saw no pairs above 8-8, total of 4
pocket pairs all night, A-K twice, and the only
one that won was 2-2. On that hand, I flopped the set,
slow-played the flop (board was disjointed rainbow) and actually got to
make it 3 bets on the turn and was called by 2 others. even
though i was
worried about set-over-set, you have to play it fast at that
point. Board paired on the river for my boat, and there was no
over-set. Sadly, that only
stopped the bleeding temporarily. After my money-evaporating act,
I
watched Sidd make some money at the 1-1-2 NL game for half an hour,
just
to get the feel. Pretty much the luckiest thing about that trip
to lucky chances was I got a parking spot outside by the door.
And then last night, Sidd, Matt & I played in Sam's 1-4
spread-limit dealer-call game. Since they don't play with blinds,
holdem is not played much (at all, really). So it's 7-stud,
7-stud hi-lo, baseball, omaha (w/out blinds!), omaha-8, and then the
usual madness (what-the-hell, marketplace, 1-3-1, scoop, pearl harbor,
c-j-p, devil's option, etc). I know for sure Matt and Sidd are
better stud players than me. Sam is also probably better, I
think. That left Ivan (Sam's brother), Emanuel, and Pete.
Turns out that really, I was only able to beat Pete. Unfortunately he went
home early after losing 2 bills, mostly not to me either. I capped my loss at 40BB,
watched for a while more and went home. I need to get a book for
stud.
